Our Firm History

was founded in 1986 by Sir Clare K. Roberts, KCN, QC after he had served for eleven years in various legal positions with the Governments of Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat and the British Virgin Islands.  On 1st May 1986, Sir Clare acting upon his vision, and having completed his contract as Solicitor General of Antigua and Barbuda, opened his private office at 60 Nevis Street, St. John’s, Antigua.  The fist office address of Roberts & Co was the single storey wooden dwelling house of the late Reginald Stevens (a historical figure known for his work with the early trade union movement).  Although still located on the same site the firm now occupies the entire second floor of a three storey building.

Today, with five attorneys, two paralegals and seven full time support staff, Roberts & Co is a family firm. It is also presently the largest law firm in Antigua and Barbuda. Details about our attorneys can be found on our attorneys’ profile pages.
